Switching apps

Move your cellar from Vivino or CellarTracker in one import.

Export a spreadsheet from your current app, upload it once, and keep your bottles, ratings, tasting notes and drinking windows. Nothing is deleted, and you see the full plan before anything is written.

Still comparing? See Cellar Curator as a CellarTracker alternative.

    Step-by-step CSV import

Four steps from an export file to a live cellar.

    1

Export a CSV from your current app

Both Vivino and CellarTracker let you download your data as a spreadsheet.

    • Vivino: open Vivino on the web, go to your profile, and choose the export option to receive your wine list as a CSV by email.
    • CellarTracker: open the web app and use Cellar → Export to download your inventory as CSV or Excel.
    • Any other app works too, as long as it exports a spreadsheet with one wine per row.
    2

Open Backup & bulk update in Cellar Curator

Sign in, open the avatar menu in the top right, and choose Data → Backup & bulk update. Pick whether the file goes into your Cellar (bottles you own) or Rated wines (bottles you have tasted).

    3

Upload the file and review the plan

Cellar Curator reads the headers, recognises the source app, and shows exactly how many wines will be added and how many existing ones will be updated before anything is written.

    • Rows that match an existing bottle by id, or by producer, wine name and vintage, are updated.
    • Rows with no match become new bottles.
    • Rows without a producer or wine name are skipped and listed, so nothing disappears silently.
    4

    Confirm the import

Apply the plan. Your bottles appear in the cellar immediately. Enrichment is a separate step: community ratings arrive with the weekly refresh (or straight away if you use the retry action on a bottle), market values follow your auto-valuation setting on the Account page, and drinking windows are filled in when you run Estimate windows.

    Column mapping

Where your drinking windows and tasting notes land.

Headers are matched automatically, so you rarely need to rename anything. If a column is not recognised it is listed in the import preview and left out — you can rename it to the Cellar Curator field below and upload again.

    Custom drinking windows

CellarTracker's BeginConsume and EndConsume years become your drink-from and drink-to years, and they are kept exactly as you set them. Bottles without a window get an estimated one you can override at any time on the bottle page. Vivino exports carry no window, so those bottles start with an estimate.

    Community ratings compared

One score, with its sources shown.

    Vivino

    1–5 stars

A single community average from Vivino users. On import, your own star rating is multiplied by 20 so 4.5 stars becomes 90.

    CellarTracker

    50–100 points

Community scores from CellarTracker tasting notes. Already on a 100-point scale, so MyScore is imported unchanged.

    Cellar Curator

    0–100 points

One community rating per bottle, blended from Vivino and CellarTracker with the source breakdown and last-checked date shown, refreshed automatically each week.

    Your cellar on the phone

Add Cellar Curator to your home screen.

Cellar Curator installs like an app on iPhone and Android — open the site in Safari and tap Share → Add to Home Screen, or use Chrome's Install app option. You get an icon, a branded launch screen, and a fullscreen cellar on every device signed in to your account.

Your cellar lives in your account, so it is the same on every device the moment you sign in. It does need an internet connection — there is no offline cellar yet, so keep a CSV backup if you visit a cellar with no signal.

Free to start — no card required. Import as many bottles as you like.
